Governor Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke of the Accord Party has been declared the winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election and will return for another term in office.
The Returning Officer for the election, Professor Joshua Olalekan Ogunwole, announced the result on Sunday after the completion of the collation of results.
While declaring the final result, Ogunwole said, “Ademola Adeleke Jackson, having satisfied the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and returned elected.”
According to the figures announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who secured 444,815 votes.
Other results announced by INEC showed that the candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) polled 20,308 votes, while the candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) secured 158 votes. Another candidate received 17,180 votes, while a different candidate garnered 20,946 votes.
Adeleke’s victory followed the conclusion of voting and the collation of results across the state.
His re-election means he will continue in office for another term as governor.
