Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, is set to unveil a 52-member campaign council as preparations intensify for his re-election bid ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election.
The development was disclosed in a post on the state’s official X handle on Tuesday, noting that the campaign structure, named the Imole Campaign Council 2026, will coordinate political strategy, mobilisation, and election activities across Osun State.
The council is expected to be inaugurated on April 22, 2026, officially signalling the start of organised campaign activities for the governor’s second-term ambition.
A senior campaign official described the council as the “backbone” of Adeleke’s re-election effort, adding that it was designed to ensure effective coordination and grassroots mobilisation across all levels.
The 52-member team is expected to include politicians, technocrats, party leaders, and grassroots mobilisers drawn from across the state.
At the leadership level, the Pro-Chancellor of Osun State University, Wale Ladipo, will serve as Chairman of the council, while Senator Lere Oyewumi is appointed Director-General.
Osun State Commissioner for Information, Kolapo Alimi, will serve as Deputy Director-General, while Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi will act as spokesperson. Hon. Prince Bola Ajao is listed as Secretary of the council.
A campaign aide said the composition reflects a deliberate mix of experience and political strength aimed at ensuring a coordinated campaign structure.
Other key appointments include Rep. Bamidele Salam, who will head the Media and Publicity Committee, while former Secretary to the State Government, Moshood Adeoti, will oversee inter-party relations.
The campaign structure also extends to federal constituencies, local government areas, and wards, with mobilisation committees expected to operate across Osun’s 332 wards.
A political analyst in Osogbo said the early unveiling of the structure suggests a strategic effort to strengthen grassroots support ahead of the election.
With the inauguration of the council, Adeleke is expected to intensify political engagements across the state in the coming months as campaign activities gather momentum.
