Ijesaland Is Fully With Adeleke’ — Olajengbesi

Governor Ademola Adeleke on Tuesday received a major political boost in Ijesaland as supporters under the Imole Campaign Council inaugurated 10,000 canvassers ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State.

The inauguration, held in Ijebu-Jesa, the headquarters of Oriade Local Government Area, attracted top political figures, party loyalists and residents from across Ijesa North Federal Constituency.

Speaking at the event, spokesperson of the Imole Campaign Council, Barrister Pelumi Olajengbesi, described Adeleke’s re-election bid as crucial to the political and developmental future of Ijesa North.

According to him, the mobilisation drive was organised to demonstrate the strong support Governor Adeleke enjoys in the area ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

“We assembled the 10,000 canvassers to show the governor that the people of Ijesaland are fully behind him and appreciate his leadership,” Olajengbesi said.

He added that residents of Ijesa North believe Adeleke’s victory would bring greater development and political inclusion to the constituency.

Addressing supporters at the rally, Governor Adeleke commended the turnout, describing it as evidence of growing support for his administration despite recent political defections in the state.

The governor said the crowd at the event reflected the strength of his political structure across Osun State, insisting that opposition parties had lost relevance among the people.

“This massive presence proves that our movement remains strong despite the defection of some lawmakers. The people are still with us,” Adeleke stated.

He also praised Olajengbesi and leaders from Ijesaland for organising the mobilisation campaign, urging residents to sustain their support and participate actively in the forthcoming election.

“No amount of intimidation or violence can change the love the people have for our movement. I urge everyone to come out on election day and vote massively because your vote is your voice,” the governor added.

Also speaking, Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, expressed confidence that Governor Adeleke would record overwhelming votes from Ijesaland during the governorship poll.

“I want to assure the governor that Ijesa North and Ijesa South are solidly behind him,” Bisi said.

The governor was accompanied to the event by his deputy, Prince Kola Adewusi; Director-General of the Imole Campaign Council, Akogun Lere Oyewumi; Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; and other party leaders and government officials.
