AAUA Decides’23: ‘INEC’ Declared AAUASU President-elect

The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo, has announced Adekanye Mayomi Adebomi (INEC)the winner

of the recently concluded Students’ Union Election for the 20222/2023 academic year.

The results were announced by the Students Union Electoral Committee (SUEC) Chairman, Prof. Olukayode Afolabi, revealing that the quantity of electorates registered was 1861, while the number of accredited and number of voters were 760 and 759 respectively.

According to the report, Mayomi Adeboye Adekanye, who goes by the political name INEC, from the department of philosophy, won the presidential seat with 423 votes, while Micheal Dotun Fakaisi, who goes by the political name WOLI MIKE, a 400-level mathematical sciences student, received 334 votes. 

Additionally, the unopposed candidate for vice president, Temitope Rotimi, also known as Temmierose, from the department of educational management, won 683 votes with a simple majority.

In a similar vein, Oluwatosin Isaac Ojo, more commonly referred to as Apostle, a 400-level microbiology student who ran for the position of General Secretary, received 657 votes. 

With 655 votes, Ogundaisi Samuel Olatunbosun, better known as Peculiar Sam, a 300-level law student, won the position of Public Relations Officer. Taiwo Abraham Damilare, better known as Capacity, came in as the Financial Secretary with 644 votes.

For Joseph Adebowale Ajiki, prevalently known as Debo from Business Organization, he was chosen as the Financier by scoring 623, while Ariyo Adekunle Omole, a 500-level understudy of Fisheries and Hydroponics was chosen the Government assistance Chief, as he scored 623 votes with straightforward greater part. 

Nwaji Uche Fidelis, more commonly referred to as Fidelis Truth, from the Economics department won the position of social director with 317 votes, beating out Damilare Festus Iwamu, Dammylee from History & International Studies, and Adewami Adebanji Joseph, Water Nation, from Plant Science & Biotechnology, with 314 and 138 votes, respectively.

Daramola Oluwatobi Olamide, also known as Jagaban, a 400-level Human Kinetics student, received 641 votes to become the sport director, and Ojo Cosmos Olayemi, also known as King Billz, a 300-level Sociology student, received 646 votes to become the Assistant General Secretary. 

Olukayode expressed his satisfaction with the free and fair election process when he announced the winners, noting that the previous disqualification was based on the constitution’s election guidelines
