The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and former Osun State governor, Adegboyega Oyetola, has congratulated Muslim faithful in Osun and across Nigeria on the occasion of the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
In a statement signed by his media adviser, Dr. Bolaji Akinola, on Wednesday, Oyetola described the festival as a moment of deep spiritual reflection, rooted in obedience and sacrifice, calling on citizens to use the season to promote unity, compassion, and communal progress.
“Eid al-Adha reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering devotion to God. It is a sacred time to renew our faith, extend compassion to others, and rededicate ourselves to service — both to God and to humanity,” the statement quoted Oyetola as saying.
The former governor commended the resilience and industriousness of Osun residents and urged citizens across religious and political divides to foster peace and mutual respect.
He also extended warm greetings to members and supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, appreciating their loyalty and commitment to the party’s progressive vision.
“I salute the dedication of our APC family in Osun. Your loyalty, perseverance, and unwavering belief in our shared ideals are deeply appreciated. Let this celebration inspire us to deepen our unity and recommit to building a better Osun and Nigeria,” he said.
Oyetola encouraged well-meaning individuals to reach out to the needy, stressing that sacrifice during Eid should be reflected in acts of kindness, generosity, and community support.
He concluded by praying for peace, progress, and divine guidance for leaders at all levels, wishing all Muslims a spiritually fulfilling celebration.
“On behalf of myself, my family, and the Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy, I wish all Muslim faithful and the people of Osun State a joyous, peaceful, and spiritually rewarding Eid al-Adha. May Allah accept our sacrifices and bless our homes. Eid Mubarak,” the statement added.
