The Modakeke chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated its apex leaderoship body, the Modakeke APC Leaders’ Council (MALCO), ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
The inauguration, held on Saturday at the Modakeke residence of the Asalu of Modakeke, Chief Wahab Bolarinwa Adetunji, brought together party leaders and stakeholders in the community.
In a statement announcing the inauguration signed by Chief Daud A. Olasupo on behalf of the Modakeke APC Leaders’ Council., the council was inaugurated to strengthen mobilization efforts and coordinate activities for the APC governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji.
Speaking during the maiden meeting of the council, Chief Adetunji said the leaders must work together to ensure the victory of the APC candidate in the forthcoming election.
He explained that regular meetings among party leaders would help strengthen unity and improve coordination ahead of the poll.
Chief Adetunji expressed satisfaction with the turnout of party leaders at the meeting and assured members of his commitment to providing leadership for the party in the community.
The leaders at the meeting also resolved to avoid distractions and focus on mobilizing votes for the APC during the election.
They further agreed that future meetings of the leadership council would continue to hold at the residence of the Asalu of Modakeke, describing the arrangement as consistent with past practices among party leaders in the community.
A chieftain of the party, Professor Benjamin Adekunle Eegunranti, who is also the chairman of the medical team of the AMBO Governorship Election Campaign Council, called for early notification of meetings to enable proper planning for members coming from outside the town.
Also speaking, the Osun APC Director of Media and Information, Mogaji Kola Olabisi, urged party leaders to work with a common goal and emphasized the need for improved publicity ahead of the election.
Following deliberations, the council appointed Mogaji Olabisi, Chief Daud A. Olasupo, the Olukosi of Modakeke, and Engineer Femi Olatoye to oversee the publicity and media activities of the body.
Former Area Office chairman, Honourable Wale Amusan, commended the development and called for synergy among party leaders in the community.
Amusan also urged the state Director of City Boy Movement and Executive Director (Engineering) of the Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Engineer Kayode Sowade, to carry party leaders along in his activities.
In his remarks, Sowade urged APC leaders in Modakeke to intensify efforts toward securing victory for the party’s governorship candidate.
He said all party members must work together to ensure the success of the APC in the election.
The leaders also resolved that the APC chairman in the community, Honourable Goke Adebowale, should improve communication and ensure proper dissemination of information among party leaders.
Other party leaders present at the meeting included Honourable Wale Popoola, Honourable Dixon Amola, Chief Sakin Ajala, Honourable Kareem Ismaeel, Honourable Yinka Ajibade, and Engineer Femi Olatoye.
