2027: Automobile Technicians Endorse Olajengbesi for Osun Reps Seat

The Nigerian Automobile Technicians Association (NATA), Obokun Chapter, has endorsed the Accord Party candidate for Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Pelumi Olajengbesi, ahead of the 2027 general elections, citing his support for artisans, women and young people.

The association announced its endorsement on Thursday during a familiarisation meeting with the Pelumi Olajengbesi Campaign Organisation (POCO) in Ibokun, Obokun Local Government Area of Osun State.

The chairman of NATA, Obokun Chapter, Comrade Adebayo Adeyinka, said the decision followed the candidate’s record of supporting artisans and other members of the community, adding that the association believed his proposed programmes could benefit its members and their families.

“We have listened to many politicians, but Pelumi Olajengbesi is different. He has shared with us his manifesto and we need someone like him for the sake of our children and younger generations. He understands the pain of artisans,” Adeyinka said.

He said members of the association across Obokun had resolved to mobilise their colleagues, families and customers to support Olajengbesi’s candidacy.

Adeyinka also expressed confidence in the candidate’s ability to improve the welfare of artisans, citing proposed federal empowerment programmes, provision of tools and training opportunities for automobile technicians and other skilled workers.

“He has promised to facilitate federal empowerment programmes, tools support and training for automobile technicians and other artisans. We believe him. That is why NATA, Obokun Chapter, is endorsing him fully,” he added.

Responding, Olajengbesi thanked the association for its support, describing artisans as important contributors to the local economy and the livelihoods of many families.

“I am humbled by this endorsement. NATA members are hardworking Nigerians who sustain families and train our young people. You fix our vehicles, you build skills, you keep the economy moving,” he said.

The Accord candidate said artisans would be central to his development agenda for the federal constituency, promising to pursue programmes aimed at improving their skills, access to equipment and business opportunities.

“Our manifesto has clear plans for artisan empowerment. We will attract federal skills acquisition centres, modern tools grants and low-interest support for workshops across Oriade and Obokun. No artisan will be left behind,” he said.

Olajengbesi urged NATA members to sustain their mobilisation efforts and participate actively in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsement adds the automobile technicians’ association to the groups declaring support for candidates ahead of the elections, as political parties and aspirants intensify consultations with community and professional organisations across the country.
