A leading security expert and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, High Chief Olalekan Jackson Ojo, has declared that Governor Ademola Adeleke will coast to victory in the 2026 gubernatorial election based on his performance and not political party influence.
Ojo, speaking on the recent wave of defections from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC — including that of the lawmaker representing Obokun/Oriade Federal Constituency, Hon. Oluwole Oke — described the defections as political drama with no real consequence.
He said Adeleke’s “sterling achievements” in infrastructure and other sectors have surpassed the expectations of many, including his critics.
“The key factor in elections is performance, not party,” he said. “This governor has broken records in all sectors, including in Obokun where many didn’t expect any impact. He made things happen.”
According to him, Adeleke has delivered numerous projects without borrowing funds and has continued to pay workers and pensioners as and when due — a move he said sets him apart from previous administrations.
“Unlike those who plunged Osun into debt, Governor Adeleke is delivering more without borrowing a kobo,” he said. “Even as an APC member from Imesi-Ile, I’m impressed. If elections were held today, he would win effortlessly.”
He added that the Governor’s popularity was reflected in the recent May Day celebrations, where Osun workers unanimously endorsed him for a second term.
“I will personally support and mobilize for his reelection beyond party lines,” he said.
