Otunba (Mrs) Titi Tomori-Ponnle, Chairperson of the Governing Council at the Federal Polytechnic, Kabo, Kano State, and former Deputy Governor of Osun State, has issued a public alert regarding a fraudulent scheme using her identity to defraud unsuspecting individuals on social media platforms.

In a public announcement released on Wednesday, Tomori-Ponnle disclosed that her WhatsApp account had been hacked, and the fraudsters were using her name, phone number, and photographs to lure innocent citizens into a fake investment scheme.

The scammers have reportedly been active on WhatsApp, Facebook, and Messenger, using her identity to solicit funds under false pretenses.

The former Deputy Governor clarified that she has no connection with any investment programme and urged the public not to respond to any messages claiming to be from her, especially those asking for financial contributions.

“I want to draw the urgent attention of the public to this fraudulent activity. I do not run any investment programme and have not instructed anyone to do so on my behalf,” Tomori-Ponnle stated.

The public is advised to disregard any messages requesting payment or encouraging them to join any platform associated with her name.
