The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) has called on youth leaders and stakeholders across the country to embrace reconciliation, unity, and collective responsibility as the organisation moves into what it described as a new era of leadership and youth development.
The call was made on Sunday during a special thanksgiving service held in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, where the Council gathered to celebrate a recent victory and chart a renewed course for the future.
Speaking at the event, the Deputy President of the NYCN, Amb. Innocent Nduanya, said the time had come for all stakeholders to put differences aside and work together in advancing the interests of Nigerian youths.
According to him, the Council’s focus is now on strengthening youth participation in governance, promoting entrepreneurship, expanding leadership opportunities, and fostering national unity.
“This moment is not about division or individual triumph. It is about rebuilding trust, strengthening our institutions, and creating greater opportunities for young Nigerians across the country,” he said.
Nduanya noted that the Council remains committed to inclusive leadership and strategic partnerships that will improve the welfare and prospects of Nigerian youths.
He urged federal, state, and local governments, development partners, private sector organisations, and civil society groups to collaborate with the NYCN in delivering programmes that address unemployment, leadership development, innovation, peacebuilding, and civic engagement.
The Council also expressed appreciation to Nigerians, diaspora chapters, affiliate bodies, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and development partners for their support and commitment to the ideals of justice and youth empowerment.
According to the NYCN leadership, the thanksgiving service marked not only a celebration of victory but also the beginning of a renewed mission to build a stronger, more united, and impactful youth movement.
The Council pledged to continue championing policies and programmes that empower young people and contribute to sustainable national development.
