Adebayo has urged voters in Osun Central Senatorial District to consider political cooperation and the ability to influence federal decisions in choosing their representative for the 2027 general elections, citing the senatorial ambition of Kunle Rasheed Adegoke, popularly known as KRAD.
Adebayo, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Osun State, argued that effective representation in the National Assembly requires more than winning an election, stressing the importance of legislative engagement, negotiation and the ability to attract development opportunities to the constituency.
He said strategic relationships with relevant government institutions and cooperation within the Senate could help representatives advance the interests of their constituents and pursue projects that address local needs.
According to him, voters should look beyond party loyalty when assessing aspirants and consider their capacity to articulate the district’s concerns, engage policymakers and seek solutions to developmental challenges.
Adebayo maintained that senators have an important role in influencing national legislation, scrutinising government policies and advocating federal interventions that could benefit their constituencies.
He also urged political stakeholders and residents of Osun Central to assess how aspirants intend to use their legislative positions and political relationships to improve development outcomes across the district.
His comments come as political activities gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections, with aspirants positioning themselves for senatorial contests across the country.
KRAD, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and APC aspirant, is seeking to represent Osun Central in the Senate.
