The Osun Amotekun Corps has firmly denied allegations made by Babatunde Oyetunji, an Osogbo-based auto mechanic, who claimed that the security outfit raided his workshop and stole vehicles and spare parts worth millions of naira.
In a recent press release, Yusuf Idowu Abass, the Public Relations Officer for the Corps, addressed the accusations, labelling them as false and libellous.
According to Abass, the Corps had no involvement in the alleged raid on Oyetunji’s workshop located on Ring Road, Osogbo.
“We have been made aware of a social media publication containing libellous allegations against the Osun Amotekun Corps, which we must correct to prevent the spread of misinformation,” said Abass.
He emphasised that the publication was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the reputation and achievements of the Osun Amotekun Corps.
The Harbinger had earlier reported that Amotekun raided the workshop, which sparked public outrage and concern.
However, Abass urged the public to disregard the news, stating it was part of a campaign to discredit the Corps.
The Osun Amotekun Corps has warned against the spread of false information, stressing that they will take legal action against individuals or groups making unfounded allegations without verifying the facts.
