The leadership of Iranje Idita Town, Ife, under the guidance of Oloja O.O.O. Dada, has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the peace initiatives championed by the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II.
This affirmation comes in response to reports suggesting plans to install a new king at Oke Ora, a territory within the land of Iranje Idita Town. Speaking on the matter, Oloja Dada emphasized that the development, progress, and unity of Iranje Idita are paramount and must be preserved.
He explained that Iranje Idita shares boundaries with Ijesa land, and Oke Ora is indisputably part of its territory. Therefore, there is no need for another traditional ruler apart from His Royal Majesty, Adisa Makinde, the Oniranje of Idita Town, Ife.
The town leadership has appealed to the Ooni of Ife, the Obalufe of Ife, and the Lowa Adimula of Ife to intervene and prevent any actions by individuals or authorities aiming to install a king at Oke Ora. They warned that such actions could lead to unrest and disunity in the area.
Furthermore, they called on the purported installation committee to abandon the decision, reiterating that Oke Ora remains part of Iranje Idita Town under the reign of HRM Adisa Makinde. The town also affirmed its support for the Oniranje, whose territory extends from Esinminrin water to its boundary with Ijesa land.
Obalesu expressed gratitude to the Ooni of Ife for his commitment to unity across Ife land and called for continued efforts to maintain harmony.
