A traditional chief in Ede, Osun State, Chief Jimoh Kabiru, popularly known as the Loogun of Loogun community, has expressed appreciation to the Timi of Ede, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, and palace chiefs for resolving the dispute that strained his relationship with the palace for several months.
Chief Kabiru, who had been involved in a dispute with the Timi Palace over allegations that led to his suspension, said the matter has now been resolved following the intervention of the monarch, the Timi-in-Council and other stakeholders in Edeland.
Speaking after the resolution of the dispute, the Loogun chief said he remained grateful to the monarch and the palace chiefs for their forgiveness and efforts in restoring peace.
He said he would continue to hold the Timi in high regard and remain loyal to the palace and traditional institution in Ede.
“I am specifically grateful to my father, Oba Munirudeen Adesola Lawal, Laminisa 1, the Timi of Edeland, and all other palace chiefs, who have been instrumental to the settlement of the almost one-year-old rift,” he said.
Chief Kabiru also appealed to anyone he might have offended during the period of the dispute to forgive him, adding that he is ready to work with all stakeholders for the development of Ede.
“I am hereby using this platform to appeal to all those that I might have offended over the issues that have now been laid to rest to passionately forgive me and let us all be partners of progress in the development of our town, Ede,” he said.
He further pledged his continued loyalty and cooperation with the palace and other chiefs, noting that the experience during the period of the dispute had taught him important lessons.
“I will continue to hold my father, the Timi of Edeland, in high esteem while my continuous co-operation with the other chiefs for the development of Edeland shall be total and without any condition,” he added.
The traditional chief also appreciated members of his family, prominent indigenes of Ede and other individuals who played roles in resolving the dispute between him and the palace.
He specifically thanked the Special Adviser to the Osun State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alhaji Adam Akintunde Akindere, for his support and intervention during the period.
He also expressed appreciation to members of the Timi-in-Council and Mogajis in Ede for their roles in resolving the dispute and restoring peace between his family and the palace.
Chief Kabiru said he would continue to support the traditional institution and contribute to the development of Ede and the Loogun community.
