As Osun State celebrates its 33rd anniversary, Rep. Bamidele Salam, Chairman of the House of Representatives Public Accounts Committee, has paid tribute to the visionary founders and early activists who laid the groundwork for the state’s establishment on August 27, 1991.
Representing Ede North, Ede South, Egbedore, and Ejigbo at the National Assembly, Salam lauded the pioneering spirit of the state’s founders, including late traditional rulers such as the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, and the Ataoja of Osogbo, Oba Oyewale Matanmi, whose contributions shaped the state’s foundation.
He also honored influential figures like Chief Bola Ige and Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa, whose relentless efforts were pivotal in Osun’s creation.
Salam praised Governor Ademola Adeleke for his dedication in advancing the state, saying, “Governor Adeleke’s leadership has kept the flag of progress flying high, reflecting his unwavering commitment to our state’s growth and prosperity.”
Extending his congratulations to the people of Osun, Salam emphasized, “This anniversary is a celebration of our collective resilience and the spirit that drives us forward.”
