The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Osun State Council, has congratulated the Ooni of Ife, Ooni Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, on the launch of Ojaja Soft Drinks, describing the initiative as a boost to indigenous enterprise and economic development.
In a statement released by the council and signed by its Chairman, Adeyemi Aboderin, and Secretary, Olalekan Akindoju, the union commended the monarch for what it called a demonstration of visionary leadership and commitment to promoting local innovation.
The council noted that the introduction of Ojaja Soft Drinks reflects a deliberate effort to strengthen local industries, empower farmers, and stimulate sustainable economic growth across the country.
“We commend the Ooni’s dedication to advancing Made-in-Africa products and fostering initiatives that strengthen local industries, empower farmers, and stimulate sustainable economic growth,” the statement read.
The NUJ added that the project goes beyond commercial interest, describing it as a symbol of confidence in African creativity and global competitiveness.
It further stated that the monarch’s investment aligns with ongoing calls for economic self-reliance and increased support for locally made products.
“As a Council, we are particularly proud that the revered monarch is a distinguished inductee of the Osun NUJ Royal Hall of Fame. This latest achievement further reflects the progressive ideals and developmental drive for which His Imperial Majesty is widely respected,” the statement added.
The council also joined other Nigerians and admirers in celebrating what it described as a significant stride towards economic transformation and cultural pride.
It reaffirmed its support for initiatives that promote local content, responsible production, and inclusive development, while wishing the monarch continued success in his future endeavours.
