The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State has dismissed claims by former Senate spokesperson Ajibola Basiru that Governor Ademola Adeleke’s administration sacked workers in the state civil service.
In a statement released on Saturday, the party described Basiru’s comments as “crocodile tears from a sore loser,” accusing the All Progressives Congress (APC) of planting loyalists in the civil service during the final days of former Governor Gboyega Oyetola’s administration.
“These so-called employments were hastily arranged without following due process. They were political traps, not genuine appointments,” the statement signed by Osun PDP Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, read.
The party noted that the Adeleke-led government has not dismissed any legally employed worker and has instead improved staff welfare, including regular promotions and salary payments.
“It is laughable that an APC government that neglected workers for years suddenly started issuing appointment letters after losing the 2022 election,” the statement added.
The PDP maintained that Governor Adeleke remains committed to transparent recruitment and filling of genuine vacancies through proper legal channels, warning against attempts to mislead the public.
