The Muslim Graduates of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (MUSGAAU), have congratulated Professor S.O. Aadam on his recent appointment as the Dean of the Faculty of Computing at the university.
This was announced during a courtesy visit by a five-member MUSGAAU delegation led by Dr. Talabi Rasheed Ayegbusi, who welcomed Professor Aadam back to Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), after nearly 15 years abroad.
The visit, endorsed by MUSGAAU’s Acting Chairman, Amir Bello AbdulGafar Adewale, was an opportunity to celebrate Professor Aadam’s return and his new leadership role at the Faculty of Computing.
As one of the pioneering Muslim staff members at AAUA, Professor Aadam has been widely recognized for his impactful contributions to the Muslim community and his steadfast support for Muslim students on campus. His return is seen as a significant enhancement for the university’s Muslim community.
During the visit, the MUSGAAU delegation not only congratulated Professor Aadam on his appointment but also discussed their vision and mission, focusing on supporting Muslim students through dawah, academic excellence, and skill development to help them navigate the current economic climate. They also explored potential collaboration opportunities, especially in leveraging the expertise of their members in his field.
In response, Professor Aadam expressed his appreciation to the MUSGAAU delegation and its leadership, reaffirming his commitment to the association’s goals, which align with his motivations for returning to Nigeria. He noted that despite receiving attractive offers from his previous position in Saudi Arabia, his decision to return was driven by a desire to contribute to the development of AAUA and support the Muslim community.
To commemorate the reunion and honour his long standing support, MUSGAAU presented Professor Aadam with a customised wall frame, symbolising the enduring connection between him and the association.
