Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Tuesday announced his defection to the Accord Party and confirmed he will seek a second term on the party’s platform.
Adeleke made the announcement at the Government House Banquet Hall in Osogbo, stating that he officially joined Accord on November 6 after consultations with political stakeholders.
The governor said his move was informed by Accord’s focus on welfare and its alignment with his administration’s priorities.
“I joined the Accord Party more than a month ago as the platform to seek re-election in 2026,”
Adeleke said.
“We want to complete ongoing work and continue delivering good governance.”
Adeleke told national and state leaders of the Accord Party present at the event that the party has become his new political base ahead of the 2026 governorship election.
He called on supporters across the state to unite under Accord, saying residents who voted for him in 2022 would support continuity in 2026.
