Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has appealed for calm over criticisms trailing the Oke Fia flyover in Osogbo, insisting the project is of good quality and enjoys the backing of residents.
Adeleke’s reaction followed a viral video showing residents inspecting the flyover and countering claims that the bridge was too narrow and substandard.
In a statement on Sunday via his X handle, the governor said he was delighted by the public’s independent assessment of the project, describing it as proof that “rumours spread by detractors” were false.

“I have received this clip of Osogbo residents inspecting and commenting on the quality of work being delivered by the Imole administration at the Oke Fia flyover, Osogbo. It brings me immense joy to see our people coming out in large numbers to dispel the rumours being spread by those determined to hinder the progress of Osun State,” Adeleke said.
The footage showed residents measuring sections of the bridge and commending the administration, while dismissing allegations that the project was poorly designed.
Adeleke, however, urged the public to be patient and wait for the contractors to fully complete and certify the flyover as safe before use. He also expressed appreciation for the continued support and vigilance of Osun residents.
