Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has ordered a restriction of vehicular movement across the state from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday as the state conducts its local government election.
In a statement issued on Friday, the governor’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, said security agencies have been directed to enforce the restriction to ensure a smooth electoral process.
Adeleke emphasized that only voters, accredited journalists, and civil society organizations would be allowed to move freely during the election hours.
“The restriction is necessary to prevent the infiltration of hoodlums and to maintain peace and security during the local government elections,” the statement read.
Residents were urged to comply with the directive and participate peacefully in the voting process.
