The Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) has launched the online voting process for the Osun Digital Media Award, a highlight of the upcoming Osun Digital Media Week 2024. This initiative celebrates both the association and notable individuals in Osun State who have contributed significantly to its development.
According to a statement from Adesoji Omosebi, Chairman of the Planning Committee, the awards aim to recognize excellence and foster progress within the digital media space. This year’s event will also include a public lecture on “The Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on Digital Media in the 21st Century,” equipping members with insights into how AI is reshaping the industry.
Throughout the week, activities will focus on community engagement and social responsibility. The public is encouraged to participate in the transparent voting process, running from November 9 to November 22, 2024. Nominees were chosen based on a rigorous evaluation of their contributions, and those receiving the highest votes will be recognized at an awards ceremony on December 5, 2024, at Ben-Ber Hall in Osogbo.
The statement in part reads, “Part of the program to celebrate this year’s edition is the presentation of awards of excellence to worthy individuals and corporate brands for their outstanding contributions to the development of our dear state,” the release reads.
“These awards, we believe, will encourage them to do more for the progress of Osun State, and winners shall emerge from a transparent voting process that will be done by the general public.”
