Osun APC Members Blast Oyetola in Leaked Recording Over Court Judgment Missteps

A leaked audio recording has revealed growing discontent among members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, with party members accusing former Governor Adegboyega Oyetola of misleading them regarding the recent Court of Appeal judgment.

The audio, allegedly from an APC members’ platform, captures voices expressing frustration over the aftermath of the judgment, blaming Oyetola for the political crisis and loss of lives and property in the state. Some members labeled the former governor a “selfish and failed leader” who prioritized his interests over those of the party.

One of the speakers in the leaked conversation lamented that Oyetola and party elders failed to disclose the true implications of the Akure Appeal Court ruling, which they now realize did not reinstate the sacked local government chairmen as they had been led to believe.

“My people, we have gotten to a stage where we need to rethink our political future and this man we called our leader,” the voice said. “A leader who only thinks about himself should not be called a leader. Alhaji Oyetola is too selfish and doesn’t mean well for us.”

The speaker criticized Oyetola for delaying local government elections while in office, only to rush the process after losing the governorship election. He claimed that party members invested heavily in campaigns without support from the former governor, despite knowing the election’s legitimacy was questionable.

Another voice in the recording questioned Oyetola’s recent directive for the party to boycott the upcoming local government elections, arguing that many candidates had already spent resources on campaigns.

“So all the noise about having security and using federal power were all lies?” the speaker asked. “We should have used this election to test the waters and prove we are ready, but the man we call our leader said no.”

Others in the conversation compared Oyetola’s leadership to that of his predecessor, Rauf Aregbesola, whom they praised for strategic planning and engagement with party members.

“Rauf would have foreseen challenges and prepared multiple strategies, but this man won’t spend money and has no plan,” another member said.

Expressing doubts about the party’s chances of reclaiming power in Osun, some members acknowledged the strong public support Governor Ademola Adeleke and the PDP currently enjoy.

The leaked audio highlights deep divisions within the Osun APC as the party grapples with its political future amid internal conflicts and legal setbacks.
