The Progressive Frontliners (TPF), a prominent support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has made a heartfelt appeal to the party’s leadership to zone the 2026 gubernatorial ticket to the Osun West Senatorial District.
This call was made in a New Year message signed by the group’s coordinator, Ajijola Ayodeji, as part of their aspirations for a transformative political future for the state.
Ajijola emphasized that the New Year provides an opportunity to reflect on past achievements, learn from challenges, and chart a course for progress.
According to him, Osun West deserves special consideration in the spirit of fairness and equity, as the district has yet to produce a governor since the state’s creation.
“The West agenda has gained significant momentum as a symbol of inclusion, equity, and fairness,” Ajijola noted. “Allocating the party ticket to this district will not only address historical imbalances but also invigorate our support base and demonstrate the APC’s commitment to balanced development across all regions.”
The group highlighted the untapped leadership potential within Osun West, stating that the district boasts individuals with the integrity, popularity, and capacity to secure victory for the APC in 2026. They believe this strategic move would foster trust, unity, and a sense of belonging among party members and the electorate.
Ajijola further argued that zoning the ticket to Osun West aligns with the APC’s foundational principles of fairness and inclusivity. He noted that such a decision could strengthen the party’s position in the state and set an example for equitable governance.
As the 2026 gubernatorial election approaches, TPF pledged to engage communities across the state and advocate for the West agenda.
They expressed confidence in the APC leadership to make a decision that reflects the aspirations of party members and positions the party for success.
“Our commitment to the Osun West agenda is not just about zoning but about fostering partnerships, driving development, and ensuring a brighter future for all citizens of Osun State,” Ajijola concluded.
The Progressive Frontliners remain optimistic that their appeal will resonate with the APC leadership, paving the way for a united and prosperous Osun State under progressive governance.
