A prominent social entrepreneur and philanthropist, Hareter Babatunde Oralusi, has declared his intention to contest the 2026 Osun State governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Oralusi made the declaration on Thursday in Osogbo, pledging to introduce accountability and transparency into governance while aligning with President Bola Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope” agenda.

The 54-year-old international businessman described himself as a candidate of change who would steer Osun toward prosperity and inclusiveness.

“Today, Nigeria is at the dawn of a new era. Under the visionary leadership of President Tinubu, we are witnessing the birth of a new Nigeria — a nation grounded on progressive governance and innovation,” he said.

Born in Ibadan in 1971, Oralusi emphasized the need for Osun to complement federal reforms with local initiatives that would transform the state into “a productive, modern, and prosperous” part of the national development agenda.

He condemned what he called entrenched political interests and “godfatherism” in Osun politics, promising to restore governance to the people.

“The era where godfatherism dictates leadership must give way to accountability, transparency, and shared prosperity. Our resources must serve the people, not the privileged few,” he stated.
