The Olowu of Kuta, HRM Oba Dr. Hammeed Adekunle Makama, CON, Tegbosun III, has extended his condolences to President Bola Tinubu, the Nigerian Army, the Ilobu community in Osun State, and the family of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Taoreed Lagbaja, who passed away on Tuesday night.
In a statement issued by his media office, Oba Makama urged the Army to remain resilient and honor Lagbaja’s legacy by intensifying efforts to eradicate insurgency and related security challenges.
He noted that the greatest tribute to the late Army chief would be to continue the fight against criminal elements—a cause Lagbaja was dedicated to throughout his career.
To Lagbaja’s family in Ilobu, Oba Makama emphasized the importance of accepting Allah’s will, expressing that General Lagbaja left a lasting legacy in both Osun State and Nigeria.“A great man is gone.
