Governor Adeleke Resigns from PDP Amid National Leadership Crisis

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has formally withdrawn his membership from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), according to an official letter dated November 4, 2025.

The resignation letter, addressed to the PDP Ward 2 Chairman, Sagba Abogunde in Ede North Local Government Area, cited ongoing turmoil within the party’s national leadership as the reason for the governor’s exit.

“Due to the current crisis within the national leadership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), I hereby resign my membership of the PDP with immediate effect,” the governor stated in the letter personally signed by him.

Governor Adeleke also expressed appreciation to the PDP for the political platform it provided, leading to his election as Senator representing Osun West and later as Governor of Osun State.

The development was confirmed by the governor’s spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, who signed the public statement announcing the resignation.
