Preparations for the 2025 Osun Digital Media Week have intensified, with top traditional rulers, government officials, media stakeholders, and political figures confirming attendance at what is projected to be the state’s biggest digital media convergence.
The event is being organised by the Osun Online Publishers Association (OOPA) and will feature a public lecture and free medical check-up on Thursday, December 4, 2025.
In a statement signed by OOPA Chairman, Adesoji Omosebi, and Secretary, Adekale Babatunde, the association said this year’s edition is designed to bring together thought leaders and innovators across media, governance, technology, and civic engagement.
Governor Ademola Adeleke is expected to lead top government officials to the event. Also expected is the Olowu of Kuta, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Adekunle Oyelude Makama (CON), who will serve as the Father of the Day, while the General Manager of Osun CSDA, Mrs Funmi Abokede, will serve as Mother of the Day.
The Secretary to the State Government and Chief Bobagunwa of Osogboland, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye, along with the Commissioner for Youth Affairs, Hon. Moshood Olagunju, are also listed among attendees, reflecting the state government’s emphasis on digital innovation and youth-focused civic engagement.
Other notable personalities expected include APC governorship aspirants Kunle Rasheed Adegoke (SAN), known as K-Rad, and Asiwaju Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO); ADC governorship aspirant, Dr Saliu AroleOrisun; Managing Director of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Hon. Olalekan Badmus (Omo-Oloore); and the National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and former Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola. Their participation is expected to enrich the conversations around public administration and digital governance.
According to the statement, the 2025 edition will focus on “Artificial Intelligence, Technology, and Credible Elections,” a theme chosen to reflect global digital trends and Nigeria’s evolving media landscape. The keynote lecture will be delivered by the Osun Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr Mutiu Agboke.
With its lineup of high-profile participants and a theme addressing national priorities, the statement noted that the 2025 Osun Digital Media Week is expected to set a new standard for media engagement across Osun State and the Southwest region.
Activities lined up for the week also include a press conference, corporate social responsibility outreach, and a refresher course for members of the Osun Online Publishers Association.
