The Federal Government of Nigeria, through the Bank of Agriculture (BOA), has announced the opening of applications for the Renewed Hope National Agricultural Mechanisation Programme (RHAMP) — a bold initiative designed to boost food security and empower young farmers across the country.
Unveiled in partnership with Heifer Nigeria, RHAMP aims to strengthen Nigeria’s agricultural capacity by creating a new generation of mechanisation service providers, particularly focusing on women, youth, and agribusiness companies.
According to Dada Olusegun, Special Assistant on Social Media to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the application process is free and currently ongoing. Interested applicants can submit their forms via the official website — https://boanig.com — before the November 10, 2025 deadline.

Under the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme, participants will gain access to:

IoT-powered digital monitoring tools to ensure transparency and accountability
The programme is open to women and youth agripreneurs aged 18–35 and registered mechanisation companies looking to expand their fleets.
BOA noted that RHAMP offers 3–5-year lease plans, 15% interest rates, and 25% down payments, with special terms for female participants.
Driving Agricultural Transformation
The programme is part of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritises agricultural mechanisation and youth inclusion as key pillars for food security and rural development.
Earlier in June, President Tinubu launched the distribution of 2,000 tractors and thousands of implements under the same initiative, pledging to make agriculture more attractive and profitable.
“Today, we take a monumental leap forward with the introduction of state-of-the-art tractors through our new agricultural mechanisation programme. We are proud of what we are doing,” the President declared during the unveiling.
The first phase of the programme includes 2,000 advanced tractors, 50 land-preparation bulldozers, 12 mobile workshops, and 8,000 specialised implements to be deployed nationwide.
Agriculture experts believe RHAMP will enhance farm productivity, create thousands of rural jobs, and reduce Nigeria’s dependency on food imports.
According to Analysts, the Renewed Hope Agricultural Mechanisation Programme as a turning point for Nigeria’s agricultural sector, especially for smallholder farmers struggling with low yields due to outdated farming methods.
By improving access to modern machinery and technical support, the initiative is expected to transform Nigeria’s agribusiness ecosystem and empower a new generation of self-reliant farmers.
