A group of agribusiness experts in Delta State have launched a practical empowerment programme to help young people create wealth through poultry farming ahead of the Christmas season.
The training, themed “Make Money This Christmas – Selling Chicken,” was held at SkySenx Hub, Mosheshe Estate, Warri, and focused on teaching participants how to profit from poultry production during the festive period.
Organized under the platform of The Alfred Ukane Effect, in partnership with Chuvaak Group and The March Initiative, the event brought together leading agribusiness professionals, including Okonkwo Jones (CEO, De Darls Farms), Israel Ogisi (CEO, Mogisi Farms), Precious Efejuku (CEO, Tajin Farms), and Daniel Mogboruko (CEO, Marich Agro).
The experts shared practical strategies on how to earn substantial income from the poultry value chain, especially through the supply of chickens and eggs during peak demand seasons.
Participants described the training as a life-changing opportunity, noting that it opened their eyes to the vast business potential within Nigeria’s agricultural sector.
“This training has given me new confidence to start my own poultry business before Christmas,” said one of the participants.
“I’ve learnt how to make real money in agribusiness, not just theory.”
Convener and keynote speaker, Mr. Alfred Ukane, explained that the initiative was driven by a desire to empower Delta youths, not profit motives.
“My goal is to equip young people with skills that can change their lives and strengthen the local economy,” Ukane stated. “We want to turn youth energy into productivity and make agribusiness fashionable again.”
The event is part of a broader effort to promote agribusiness as a tool for wealth creation and reduce youth unemployment in Delta State, especially as demand for poultry products rises during the festive period.
