Adeleke Will Win 2026 in PDP, Needs No ADC Alliance — Spokesperson

Governor Ademola Adeleke has no plans to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) or align with any of its leaders ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State, his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, has said.

Reacting to media reports and public enquiries regarding alleged plans for Adeleke to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the ADC, Rasheed dismissed the claims as false and baseless.

“There is no truth in those publications and speculations. Governor Adeleke remains in PDP and will contest and win the 2026 governorship election on the platform of the PDP with a wide margin,” Rasheed said in a statement issued on Monday.

He further clarified that the PDP in Osun has already declared its support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election, making any purported alliance with ADC impossible.

“Governor Adeleke has no alliance with anyone in ADC. He remains committed to the PDP. His impressive performance in office has endeared him to the people of Osun State, and the electorate is poised to re-elect him for a second term,” Rasheed stated.

The governor, according to Rasheed, has urged members of the PDP to continue strengthening party structures across all levels in preparation for another electoral victory in 2026.
