The spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Olawale Rasheed, has dismissed reports claiming that Governor Ademola Adeleke is planning to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), describing them as fake news sponsored by opposition elements.
In a statement released on Thursday, Rasheed urged members of the public to disregard the rumour, which he said was fabricated to mislead the people of Osun State.

“Our attention has been drawn to a statement credited to the Osun State APC chairman that Governor Ademola Adeleke is negotiating with former Governor Rauf Aregbesola about joining the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
The report is false and the entire assertions by the opposition are mere fabrication and fake news.
Governor Adeleke is not negotiating with former Governor Aregbesola about ADC and the governor is not joining ADC,” the statement read in part.
Rasheed added that the governor remains committed to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and focused on delivering on his campaign promises to the people of Osun State.
“The members of the public are hereby implored to ignore the fake news from the pit of hell,” he said.
The clarification comes after online reports alleged that Governor Adeleke was in talks with former Osun governor Rauf Aregbesola over a possible defection to the ADC — a claim that has now been firmly denied.
