Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commended the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, for the swift steps taken so far in investigating the recent killings in Akinlalu, Ife North Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, on Saturday, Adeleke expressed the state government’s full support for the ongoing police investigation, urging all relevant agencies to ensure transparency and fairness in the process.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to justice, warning that no individual or group, regardless of status or influence, would be spared if found culpable.
“There are no sacred cows in this matter. Anyone found responsible for the Akinlalu killings must face the full weight of the law,” Adeleke stated.
While commiserating with the families of the victims, the governor emphasized the need to uphold the rule of law during the investigation, noting that innocent persons must be protected within the bounds of justice.
He added, “Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done without any hindrance. I will not condone any violation of the law, indiscipline, or act of impunity. The law must take its full course.”
Adeleke further called on all security agencies, including the Police, Department of State Services (DSS), and Amotekun Corps, to maintain peace and order while the investigation continues.
